Biography
Yannick Lopes is graduated with a master in Ethnomusicology from the Sorbonne university in Paris IV. At the age of 18, he was the first named player of classical guitar in the CNSMDP (Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de danse de Paris) in Roland Dyens and Jean Marc Zvellereuther’s class.
Three years later, he got a first price with honours in classical guitar, in improvisation générative in Alain Savouret and Alexandros Markeas’ class playing guitar and accordion, as well as his DFS (Diplôme de formation Supérieure). He has been the first accordionist in history from the Cnsmdp to have been graduated from the improvisation générative class.
He won several international competitive examinations concerning classical guitar:
Concours international Emilio Pujol in Italy, Sardegna
Concours international Maurice Ohana in Ville d’Avray, France
Concours international de guitare in Antony, France
As well as in Accordion:
1st price Tremplin young talent at 14 years in Maintenon. He was invited to play on television in a Belgium program named Sur un air d’accordéon
1st price European Competitive Examination of accordion in the ACV (Accordéon Club de Versailles)
1st price Linette Tamisier Competition playing alone in the variety and classical category.
1st price Coupe de Vincennes variety and classical category
2nd price European Accordion Competitive Examination in Vichy (the first price was not given)
2nd price National Acordion Competition
2nd price World Acordion Trofy in the Diatonic category.
He was invited to participate in many contemporary art works with the 2e2M group, the Ars Nova group and the Péniche Opéra company.
As an improviser, he was invited by the bass player named F. Stohl in Anne Montaron’s program entitled A l’Improviste on Radio France, he was also invited by the painter Roberto Altmann to make a live creation of one of his works entitled Partitions, Dominique Bertrand playing drums and singing and Yuan Chang, dancer from the Shangai opera. He was invited by the Paris cinema in the Louis Feuillade ‘s movies projections which was a musical performance in the following movie: Pierrot et Pierrette.
As a soloist, he has given Classical Guitar recitals in France in Bordeaux at the festival des graves whose honored president is M.Rostropovitch, but also abroad : Portugal, Spain, Italy, Sweden, Denmark, England and Germany.
He is interested by the musical composition, he has studied in the CNSMPD in the composer E.Lejet’s class, he has created a work dedicated to classical guitar and singing voice in the Esperanto language based on a Russian poet ‘s text which dates back to the 20th century. He also created many other works, one for accordion and piano named Nota So under the order of the dancer N.Sénéchaut who is director of the international competitive examination Rosalia Chladek.
He is member of a Portuguese musical group he created and named Trio Lopes (2000), of a Jewish musical group called Trio Klezele ( 2005), of the duo Paris-Lisbon(2009), and the duo Tazoish( 2010). Those groups have already played in every countries in Europe and also in the USA.
With his Jewish Trio, Yannick Lopes was chosen to take part in the show known as La Grande Odyséee de l’Accordéon which gathers the best current accordionist all styles included. He was invited to the international festival Carrefour Mondial de l’Accordéon in Québec, Canada, he received the coup de Coeur du public in September 2011.
He has recently been chosen to become the main animator in the Café Central program held on the RGB Radio in Val d’Oise in the Paris region.
